There are many gatherings and celebrations at VPC! We often believe something would be better shared around good friends, good food, and some coffee or tea. Some fellowship opportunities are weekly and some are annually.
Fellowship Time: Sunday mornings at 10am from September-June. This is a time of light refreshments for anyone who would like a morning snack and a cup of coffee/juice/tea. It happens during Sunday School so a lot of parents will sit and relax with a cup of coffee and a doughnut instead of going home and coming back. It is also a good opportunity for folks to grab their cup of coffee/tea/juice with a friend before worship.
Lenten Soup Luncheons: The Fellowship Committee holds soup luncheons during Lent. These luncheons immediately follow church and are held in the basement. Each week a different team will host it and there are sign-ups for volunteers to provide soup, bread, crackers, and desserts and help set-up or clean-up. In addition to soup, there is a kid menu. There is a free will offering and the money helps support our missions.
Potato Bake Lunch: The CE & Worship Committee hosts a Potato Bake Lunch once a year. Usually following Sunday service, but it has been before Saturday service in recent years. This is a very popular event at VPC! It is an all the baked potato you can eat smorgasbord! The potatoes are hot from the oven and you pick out the one you want and go down the line of cheese, broccoli, chives, bacon, sour cream, and most any topping you could think of to put on your potato. There is a free will offering and the money goes to our Youth Program.
Work Days: Two to three times a year the Property and Finance Committee schedule days to repair and spruce up the church inside and out. They are normally on a Saturday morning from 8:00am- 12:00pm and they provide an excellent opportunity to get to know one another. Projects range from general cleaning to painting, sealing parking lots, and replacing roofs. What a wonderful way to show our love of God- taking care of His house!
**Not only do we have events, we also have groups that are focused on fellowship**
Crusaders: A mission of fellowship and service offered by Vanport Presbyterian Church to over age 50 persons seeking Christian activities was begun in March 1999. This group meets monthly on the second Wednesday of the month at 10:00am in the sanctuary. They have a variety of program topics such as where to find help and answers, and safety tips for physical and financial questions. There are also educational and entertainment speakers, slides of travel tours, a 55 Alive driving course, musical presentations, and artistic hobby collections.
They also offer monthly entertainment activities like dinners, theatre plays, visiting historic sites, shopping trips, picnics, and game nights. They travel by bus for greater distances or by car caravan for shorter ones.
Members provide help to the C.A.S.T. Program and the Community Dinners.
This senior ministry is open to anyone wanting Christian fellowship. Come and share. We share in day trips, dinners, holiday events, etc. It’s a great opportunity for fellowship and travel with others. So, if you’d like to have some fun and make new friends or catch up with some old friends, please plan to join us.
**New Members Are Always Welcome.**

Prayer Box: The Missional Church Committee members are holding regular prayer meetings in the loft to pray for our church and the community. We welcome any and all prayer requests people may have. There is a designated PRAYER BOX located on the table in the Narthex for such requests. Index cards and pens are located next to the Prayer Box. If you or anyone you know is in need of prayer, please feel free to fill one out and drop it in the box.
